Personal & Family Documents

Civil and family documents are the backbone of every cross-border matter: birth, marriage, and divorce records, consents and declarations for Ukrainian authorities, affidavits sworn in Canada, and the certified forms that make them usable on the other side. LexRoota coordinates retrieval in Ukraine, certification in Canada, and the translation and delivery in between. Regulated acts are performed by registries, notaries, and consular officers engaged on your file.

01 Ukrainian Birth Certificates from Canada
A Ukrainian birth certificate can be re-issued, retrieved, or apostilled while you stay in Canada: the civil registry (RACS) or the state archive issues the duplicate, and the Kyiv desk files the request under your entitlement or a power of attorney.
2–8 weeks
02 Marriage Documents from Ukraine
A Ukrainian marriage certificate — current or decades old — can be retrieved and prepared for Canadian use while you remain in Canada: the civil registry issues the duplicate, older records come from archives, and the apostille plus certified translation finish the set for your receiver.
2–8 weeks
03 Divorce Documents from Ukraine
Ukrainian divorce documents — a registry dissolution certificate or a court decision with its entry-into-force stamp — are retrievable from Canada through the Kyiv desk's registry and court requests.
2–8 weeks
04 Consents & Declarations for Ukraine
Ukrainian authorities regularly ask for a signed consent or declaration from a parent, spouse, or relative living in Canada: a child's travel or document consent, a spousal property consent, a family declaration for a registry file.
1–3 weeks typical
05 Affidavits Sworn in Canada for Use in Ukraine
An affidavit sworn in Canada stands up in Ukraine when three things align: the text states exactly the facts the Ukrainian side needs, the oath is administered by a commissioner or notary in proper form, and the apostille plus certified translation carry it across.
2–3 weeks typical
06 Ukrainian Civil Status Documents from Canada
Every Ukrainian civil status record — birth, marriage, divorce, death, name change, and civil-status reference certificates — can be obtained and prepared for Canadian use while you stay in Canada.

How this category works

The route is set by which country issued the document, whether you appear on the record, and which body receives it. Since 11 January 2024, Canadian documents travel to Ukraine on an apostille through Global Affairs Canada (JLAC) or Ontario Official Documents Services; Ukrainian documents are apostilled in Ukraine by the competent ministry. Scope and price are confirmed in writing before work begins.
